Peter’s practice centers on elder law and includes such areas as guardianships, probates, and estate planning. Additionally, Peter enjoys adoption law where he has had the privilege of assisting clients complete international, DSHS, private, agency, and step-parent adoptions.

Peter has lived in the Everett/Lake Stevens area since 1976 with periods away for undergraduate work at San Diego Christian College, and a tour as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. After finishing law school in 1991 at the Seattle University School of Law, Peter began practicing law as a judge advocate with the Marines.

In 1996, Peter left active duty with the Marines and joined his brother-in-law, Larry Jelsing, in the private practice of law with what is today Jelsing, Tri, West & Andrus, PLLC. Since that time, Peter has enjoyed a broad range of experience in various areas of the law and has within the last fifteen years narrowed his practice to elder and adoption law. Peter is a past co-chair of the Grants Committee on the Elder Law Executive Committee for the Washington State Bar Association. He is a retired judge advocate in the Marine Reserves.

Peter is an actively involved member of Snohomish Community Church in Snohomish, Washington. He is happily married and enjoys his three sons immensely. In addition to engaging people in good conversation, Peter enjoys volleyball in the summer.
