William (“Bill”) F. Tri retired as of 2021. Sadly, in early 2026 Bill passed away. He leaves behind his wife and three adult daughters. He will be greatly missed. Bill lived most of his life in the Everett, Washington area. Bill graduated from Cascade High School in Everett in 1974. He went on to graduate from Western Washington University (BA-Political Science) where he was also a member of the varsity football, basketball and track teams. Bill received his law degree from Seattle University in 1984, graduating with honors (cum laude) and was a member of the Law Review. He then worked for a year as a law clerk for a Snohomish County Superior Court Judge and then for another year as a law clerk for a Washington State Court of Appeals Judge. Bill then began private practice with Jelsing, Tri, West & Andrus, PLLC, and has been a member of the firm ever since.

Bill had over 25 years of experience as a trial lawyer. His practice was always primarily in personal injury and family law matters. He conducted numerous mediations, arbitrations, trials and appeals. Bill obtained millions of dollars for his personal injury clients in cases involving vehicle accidents, wrongful deaths, and premises liability. Bill always gave a free consultation on injury cases and if there is no recovery of money damages for a client, then there is no attorney fee owed by the client.

Bill was an Eagle member of the Washington State Association of Justice. He served on several Washington State Bar Committees and the Snohomish County Children’s Commission. Bill remained active in numerous sporting activities up until his passing and has coached many community youth sports teams.
